Post Production - Week 9

I usually like to have written at least once post between each vlog update, but this week has been a bit much for me. I've been feeling swamped - sort of overwhelmed. My to-do list on RTM keeps growing, and growing. And I haven't been able to keep up.

But, I'm feeling better these last two days - the new Episode should be up by this Friday, short of any natural disasters.

@Madmac66: Thanks :) I'm fine today, the episode is finished, it was just one of those slumps. I'm sure I just need to go for a walk outside :P

I hate to hear this is so much stress for you. But I can agree that after having a couple of production classes and now I have Documentary I, I don't necessarily have the patience for editing, though I do want to learn it. I have FCE so I really need to see what I can do with it until I get FCP. I hope I don't have too many restrictions.

@Tiff: It happens, there's just a lot to do and, as they say :P so little time.

I like express - at least the few times I've used it. Although, I might use iMovie to import (since it breaks up the clips by cut) and then edit with FCE. But, it's fairly powerful :)

Hi Mike,

For what i know (to little) you should still use the same FCP with lan off, because on mac/apple and to capture the HDV codec files it seems to be the only automated solution, because the iMovie i think, is using AIC and not HDV codec. but i haven't tested this new version of it.
And also because FCP also can recapture later any clip you need and i think the other solutions can't do that efficiently.

and... the last episode is amazing and touching.
I am sure that whatever tool you use you will end up with a good episode/movie. :-)

ZN

@Ze Nuno: Ok, thanks, I didn't know iMovie used AIC. I'm working on getting FCP for my mini - I need my import settings to be consistent.
